Cross-Sell amount types
This article is for admins who define Cross-Sell numbers, and for sellers who enter or read those numbers on a map.
Relationship Map-only customers do not have Cross-Sell. This page is Crush-only.
What an amount type is
An amount type is a numbered bucket on a Cross-Sell cell. Each type is its own Cross-Sell Amount Type record — not a picklist on the cell.
| Amount type | What it represents |
|---|---|
| Current Spend | Revenue you already have with this account at this intersection |
| Open Opportunities | The sum of non-closed opportunity amounts for the account (on a template map, for that row and column) |
| Upside | Expansion potential beyond an existing open opportunity |
| Competitor | Spend sitting with someone else |
Current Spend, Competitor, and Upside are created when Crush is installed. Open Opportunities is a separate amount type — create the record if it is not already in the org.
Your org can add further types. Summary formulas are not amount types. They do not appear in the amount type filter.
How the numbers relate
Use this example. A cell has an open opportunity of $100,000 that could reasonably grow to $150,000:
- Open Opportunities = $100,000
- Upside = $50,000 (the gap, not the $150,000 target)
Current Spend and Competitor are independent totals on the same cell. They are not derived from Open Opportunities or Upside.
Freeform vs template
| Freeform | Template | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the number comes from | Someone types it | A mapped Salesforce field, with filters |
| Open Opportunities | Seller types the non-closed opportunity total | Sum Opportunity Amount where Stage is not closed, scoped to the row and column |
| Upside | Seller types the expansion gap | A mapped field or a value your process stores on the opportunity or a related object |
| Tile header | The cell’s primary amount type | Summary chips for each visible amount type |
On a template, columns (and rows) can be generated from records or from picklist values. The amount type mapping is what fills the number inside each cell.
Create or edit an amount type (admin)
- In the PROLIFIQ CRUSH app, open Cross-Sell Amount Types.
- Click New, or open an existing type.
- Set Name, Abbreviation, Color, Order, and Display Type (Currency, Double, Integer, or Percent).
- Save.
Then associate the type with the maps that should use it (or rely on your org’s existing associations). On a Cross-Sell Template, map the type to a Salesforce field and add condition groups so the total is the right set of records.
Sellers can also see amount types in the map header filter. Unchecking a type hides its chips and removes it from row/column totals. It does not delete the data.
Errors and edges
- Open Opportunities is missing. It is not created on install. Add a Cross-Sell Amount Type and, for template maps, map it to Opportunity Amount with a “not closed” filter.
- A formula I created is not in the amount type filter. Expected. Summary formulas are not amount types. See Cross-Sell summary formulas.
- The tile header shows the wrong number. On freeform, change the primary amount type in the cell panel.
- Template totals look high. The mapping filter is too wide (for example it includes closed-won or opportunities on a different product). Tighten the condition group; do not “fix” it by typing over the cell.
